Faecal NIR (Near Infra-red Spectrophotometry) is a unique service only available through Symbio Alliance whereby faecal samples from cattle grazing pastures in Northern NSW, Queensland, the Northern Territory or the Kimberly region of WA, can be used to predict pasture quality using NIR technology. Pasture Nitrogen, protein, digestibility, metabolizable energy and proportion of non-grass species in diet is estimated and reported in conjunction with an interpretation of the results and they might be applied to the individual production system.

Information on this service is available below, along with a sample submission form for use when submitting samples for analysis. Alternatively, contact one of our customer service team for a Faecal NIT kit that contains sample jars, submission form and instructions for taking, drying and submitting faecal samples for NIR analysis.
